    Mobile Food Pantry (Food Is Medicine)

     

    From March - November of each year, the Cleveland Dept. of Public Health @ J. Glen Smith Health Center partners with the Greater Cleveland Foodbank in receiving over 6000 pounds of produce each month to distribute to the community at large. We are considered a "Food is Medicine" site in which we have nursing students who take blood pressures, glucose and cholesterol readings (as available); food demos, managed care agency tables, community agency tables, community agency participation by volunteering which includes our partnership with the Greater Cleveland Volunteer Association!

    For those who would like to receive produce, please bring bags and arrive early (line forms at 3:00pm)! For those who would like to volunteer, please contact Kathy Rothenberg-James at krothenberg@city.cleveland.oh.us.

    Bike Smarts 2019 Educational Series

     

    Join Bike Cleveland every 3rd Tuesday for informative classes on a wide range of cycling topics. Each class is $10 (FREE to Bike Cleveland members with code) and they are all held at our Ohio City office beginning at 6:30pm. Light refreshments and snacks are provided.

     

     

    Pre-registration is required, and is open until Noon of class day. Workshop class size is restricted to 20 attendees, and the on-bike class size is restricted to 10 attendees, so register early to guarantee your spot. If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know immediately so we can reschedule you and give your spot to someone on the waiting list.

    June - August Rolling Bike Smarts :: *ALL :: Offering an on-road experiential learning opportunity in which participants learn bike law and practice positioning themselves on the road for maximum visibility and predictability. *Bring Your Own Bike & Helmet

     

    September Back to School & Work :: *Beginner *Intermediate :: Offering educational tips for commuters using Public Transportation bikeshare options.

     

    October Traffic Laws :: *ALL :: Staying Safe & Legal While Cycling for Fun :: Tips for cycling legally & safely provided by local lawyer or police officer.

     

    November Winter Riding Fun:: Tips for staying motivated on your bike during the winter months.

    Moving Towards Equity 2019

     

    Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is pleased to offer Moving Towards Equity, a series of four peer-learning sessions on how to operationalize racial equity learning at your organization.

     

    The series will take place over four interactive sessions:

    • December 5: The final session will be informed by conversations and interests expressed in earlier sessions.

     

    All sessions are free to attend and open to all CAC General Operating Support grant recipients. Each session will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at MidTown Tech Hive, 6815 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, 44103.
