Survey of Moses Cleveland Trees in the Watershed
In 1796, Moses Cleaveland found a diverse native forest at the mouth of the Cuyahoga. From 1946 to 1986, some 273 trees were designated in Moses's honor as living landmarks of that forest. In 2020, looking toward Cleveland's 225th anniversary in 2021, an inventory of the landmarks was begun. Roy Larick has led much of the work.
Join the Friends of Euclid Creek as Roy Larick, PhD. presents trees as living representatives of Cleveland's prehistoric forest and as resources for restoring old growth woodlands in Cleveland.
