Join author and illustrator David Allen Sibley as he discusses his upcoming book What It's Like to Be a Bird: What Birds are Doing, and Why—from Flying to Nesting, Eating to Singing.
Sibley’s new book is for birders and non-birders alike that will excite and inspire by providing a new and deeper understanding of what common, mostly backyard, birds are doing… and why! It’s been a long time in the making and is the result of his deep curiosity about the birds he has spent his life observing, painting, and celebrating. And he wanted to share some of the incredible new scientific research on birds and the myriad ways they have adapted to meet the challenges they face, including the loss of nearly 3 billion, or 29%, in North America since 1970.
A book signing will follow the lecture.
