Vernal Poolooza 2021 is a series of five Virtual Presentations, which will take place between February and May. They will be compiled of 45 minutes of formal presentation on a variety of topics and 15 minutes of recent exploration in central Ohio’s vernal pools to share current conditions. Overall across the series, you’ll learn how to recognize, sample and develop a vernal pool, as well as see the vernal pool transitional process from winter into spring.

Thomas R. Biebighauser, author of A Guide to Creating Vernal Ponds, Wetland Restoration, Drainage, and Repair, and Wetland Restoration and Construction-A Technical Guide, who has also built over 2,600 wetlands, will show many of the naturally appearing and functioning vernal ponds people have built across North America for rare amphibians, and how you can do the same, and at a low cost!
