Dr. Nicole Gunter,
Collections Manager of Invertebrate Zoology,
Cleveland Museum of Natural History

Represented by over 5,000 species from six continents, it’s a dung beetle’s world and we’re just living in it. Dung beetles’remarkable diversity, cosmopolitan distribution and steadfast association with vertebrates through dung feeding make them a living lens to view the vast history of evolution. With insights from DNA, we will tunnel through the evidence to determine if dung feeding evolved with mammals or with dinosaurs, and what those findings say about the story of natural history.

Presentation of Naturalist Certificates will precede this program.

5:30 pm – Enjoy complimentary light appetizers, a cash bar and live music. Museum exhibitions, galleries and store are open.
Meals are available for purchase at Exploration: A Zack Bruell Restaurant, located off the Museum’s main lobby.

7 pm – Presentation begins in auditorium, followed by questions and answers.
