NOACA Climate Action Summit
In partnership with The Cleveland Foundation and The George Gund Foundation, NOACA will host a virtual Climate Action Summit on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.
The Summit is a half-day event that will include a keynote speaker and panel discussions on subject matters related to the development of a regional climate action plan for Northeast Ohio.
Our keynote speaker is Beth Osborne, Director of Transportation for America. The Summit will also include a live broadcast that incorporates a crowd gauging tool called Mindmixer to gather responses and gain perspectives from the public at large.
Key guests scheduled for remarks include:
- U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH)
- Rep. Marcy Kaptur, (D-OH)
- Rep. David Joyce, (R-OH)
- Grace Gallucci, NOACA, Executive Director & CEO
- Ronald B. Richard, The Cleveland Foundation, President and CEO
- Anthony Richardson, The George Gund Foundation, President
Panelists scheduled to appear:

Our goal is to build support for the regional climate action plan and demonstrate commitment to a low-carbon future for Northeast Ohio.
Specific goals for the Summit include:
- Educate participants about the unique opportunities in Northeast Ohio to protect valuable resources and achieve co-benefits.
- Enlighten about the urgency for solutions and impacts of climate change on Northeast Ohio (What's at stake?).
- Raise awareness about the experience of other organizations to address the climate crisis through Climate Action Plans.
- Demonstrate unity from leaders across regional organizations in support of NOACA's efforts to develop a regional climate action plan through partnership and bold investment, particularly as it relates to the region's transportation system.
- Call to action among leaders to join our efforts through a commitment pledge for climate mitigation and adaption of strategies to achieve a low-carbon future.
