Join the Cleveland Museum of Natural History on a trip through the Burkholder Preserve located in Ashtabula County. Burkholder Preserve perches on a clifftop over the Grand River. Museum Naturalists, Garrett Ormiston & Ken Schneider will lead participants across its patches of pawpaw before reaching hundreds of enormous hemlocks and old-growth white pines at the cliff's edge, framing views of the river below. We'll drop down to river level at Cash-Hertrick Preserve, just downstream, where the hardy can venture into narrow, steep-walled ravines carved out of the shale by tiny tributaries of the Grand River.
