Equity Planning
What’s Next for Cleveland?
Join a discussion exploring the future of equity planning in Cleveland. Panelists will discuss how the principles of equity can be embedded into the many planning decisions currently playing out in Cleveland. They will draw on examples a new book edited by Krumholz & Hexter—Advancing Equity Planning Now. The forum will take an in-depth look at housing and community development but will touch on other planning issues addressed in the book as well. Panelists will discuss how a federal public housing initiative—the Rental Assistance Demonstration, or RAD—is currently being implemented by the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority including how city leaders and major stakeholders can leverage the redevelopment of large public housing properties. They will also explore opportunities to address equity through the city’s community development strategy.
