Cultivating Plant Conservation for the Future
Celebrate Arbor Day by attending a Free lecture at The Holden Arboretum.
Kayri Havens, PhD, Medard and Elizabeth Welch Director, Plant Science and Conservation, Chicago Botanic Garden will speak about Cultivating Plant Conservation For The Future.
Havens will discuss how organizations, national and global alike, are tackling the threats to plants while addressing conservation plans for the future. Join us for this informative talk about plant blindness, how climate change affects plants, and building large scale restoration capacity. The role of the updated Global Strategy for Plant Conservation, the National Seed Strategy and other recent policy documents in providing a road map for successful plant conservation will also be explored.
