The Sustainable Cleveland 2019 Brand Identity—including the 2019 logo and brand elements found below—serves as a tool for promotion and recognition of the city of Cleveland’s 10-year sustainability initiative. The 2019 logo, Celebration Year logos and 2019 Brand Standards Manual were developed by Studio Graphique, Little Jacket Design and the 2019 Communications Resources Working Group, respectively, to accelerate and help align you with SC2019 as you adopt the brand strategy for your projects and initiatives.

Primary 2019 Logo
The Brand Elements are the cornerstone of the Sustainable Cleveland brand. The iconic shape is symbolic of both the seeds we plant and the life that emerges from them. Working together, they can create endless combinations, depicting root systems, plant life, ecological systems, urban plans. They can work together to describe life, growth, creativity and expressions of freedom.

Celebration Topic Logos
Every year leading up to 2019, Cleveland will celebrate progress toward one clearly defined and actionable area in which sustainability and economic development intersect. The icons shown to the left have been developed for use in conjunction with Celebration Year initiatives. The yearly themes are subject to change order, and the Year 2019 theme will not be determined until closer to the date. (See page 4 of the 2019 Brand Standards for Usage Guidelines).

BEYOND 2019

The Sustainable Cleveland 2019 initiative does not come to an end after the year 2019 is over. Efforts towards a more sustainable Cleveland will continue past 2019, calling upon the use of slightly different logos.

The post-2019 logos should be used under the same guidelines as the previously established identities. The only difference between the previously established identities and the post-2019 identities is the removal of the text “2019”.
