Mayor's Summer Rain Barrel Program

The Summer Rain Barrel Program is a collaborative program providing City of Cleveland residents with rain barrel systems free of charge.

In an effort to reduce stormwater runoff, help residents save money and engage Cleveland youth, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability has partnered with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD), Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), the Mayor’s Youth Summer Employment Program (YSEP), local Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and the Cleveland Division of Water (CWD) to employ City of Cleveland high school students to assemble and distribute the rain barrels to City residents.
